If you’re unsure where to book we are here to help and will suggest the best places to camp based on what you want to see and do on Fraser:

Rainforest Camping

There are a large number of well established camping zones located mainly on the interior of the Island scattered throughout the amazing rainforest and bush scrub on Fraser. These are our favourites:

Central Station

One of the largest campsites located in the middle of Fraser Island and the rainforest. Park your 4WD hire vehicle up beside your tent and get set up. There a number of walking tracks from this campsite as well including one down to Wanggoolba Creek ( the invisible Creek) - the perfect spot for an early morning walk before the rest of the Island wakes up. Hot showers (coin operated) are available, washing up facilities are provided, as well as flushing toilets and rubbish bins. The site is dingo fenced as well.

Lake Boomajin

One of the only lakes to have a campsite located nearby is Lake Boomajin. This unique lake has waters the colour of teatree nd is the largest lake on Fraser Island. The campsite features flushing toilets, as well as picnic tables. With the lake just a short stroll from the campsite this the perfect place if you want to go for a sunrise or sunlight paddle. The site is dingo fenced as well. The campsite allows you to park your 4WD hire vehicle up beside your tent and get set up.

Beach Camping

The extensive area of 75 Mile Beach also offers plenty of space for beach camping. No facilities are available however this position provides a perfect view of sunrise a good base point for fishing or exploring the beach attractions. There aren’t any facilities with beach camping - you’ll be using a bush toilet (or bringing your own chemical portable toilet), and will be responsible for your own washing up facilities. Please note: there are some no camping sections of the beach which are clearly marked and camp fires are prohibited. These are some of our favourite campsites located on the Eastern Beach with dingo fencing:

Dundaburra

Located less than 600m from the Eaastern Beach of Fraser Island Dundaburra campsite is sheltered from strong ocean winds and surrounded by a shady woodland. You can simply park your 4WD hire vehicle up beside your tent and get set up. There’s plenty of facilities including hot showers (coin operated), flushing toilets, picnic tables and campfire rings (conditions apply for campfires). Rise and shine with the sounds of the ocean. A great place to bring your fishing rods and try catch some whiting.

One Tree

Located 1km north of Eurong Beach Resort One Tree Campsite is the perfect place to catch sea breezes and listen for the surf rolling surf. You can simply park your 4WD hire vehicle up beside your tent and get set up. The campsite is nestled behind the sand dunes. There aren’t any facilities at this campsite - though it is dingo fenced.
